Psychotherapy Approach

Mindfulness Integrated Therapy

New evidence-based approaches are integrating mindfulness training into treatment for improved results. For example, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (an eight-week course in mindfulness) was recently compared to standard psychiatric care for anxiety and found to be equal with less side effects. With mindfulness, you’ll learn to relax your body and mind and respond differently to problematic thoughts and emotions.

Mindfulness can be integrated with standard efficacious treatments (i.e., Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) for improved results for stress management, anxiety, focus, and sleep. I have undergone advanced training in mindfulness at UCLA, UCSD, and Brown University and believe it can be a powerful tool in therapy.

Evidence-Based Treatment

Evidence-based practice means integrating the latest treatments and science with my clinical expertise and your preferences. I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, and Schema Therapy. Research shows integrating mindfulness with traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy for sleep, stress, and anxiety often leads to longer-lasting results.

Relationship Oriented

I believe that relationships are central to our health in well-being. A great relationship can build us up and emphasize our strengths. An unfulfilling relationship can break us down. I help you focus on how to be effective in your relationships, building meaningful and fulfilling relationships with your peers, partner, and children. Similarily, our relationship in psychotherapy is a critical element in growth and I aim to get to the you as a person and let me know as a person, so we can work together towards your goals.
